We recently added Imagify to our site and are serving WebP images. We noticed that new JP Image Galleries are showing duplicate images in the Lightbox gallery (but the gallery in the post is fine). I confirmed that adding older, unprocessed images is returning single images in the Lightbox, but the newer processed webp images are duplicating.

In the code, all of this is contained in a <picture> element with <source> going to the webp, and then <img> going to the JPG/PNG version.

I’m guessing that the JP Gallery plugin is seeing both, and thinking it needs to create a lightbox gallery item for both.

Can you help us with this issue? Thanks!

  • Hi @bistrostudio

I can see you mention seeing duplicate images for processed images with Imagify; however, that plugin create a new file for each optimized image; hence why you are seeing duplicates.

In the Gallery, are you able to select specifically the WebP image for that post? My suggestion, is to re-insert the Gallery and select the optimized (WebP) image, and checking whether it shows a duplicate after that.

Let us know what you get.
