Jpeg images not uploading in WP 4.2

  • Upgraded to 4.2 fine but now I am getting an error when uploading Jpeg images. PDFs and PNGs seem to work fine. It looks like the Jpeg gets uploaded fine but thumbnails are not getting created. I have tested this on different WP installations and the error is consistent.

    Ok, I’ve have since isolated this to a server issue, Jpegs load fine on a local copy of the website. Any ideas why this would suddenly change? And what should I be telling my hosting provider to have this issue fixed?

    Turns out it was a plugin Image Rotation Fixer that supposedly fixes rotation issues with Jpegs from mobile phones. Not sure why the plugin works fine locally but not on my production server.

    Did you happen to have an issue viewing theme previews in the editor as well? All I see are broken image links?
