• If it’s not one thing on WP, it’s another. Increasingly not sure WP was my best choice for my site design. Seems like there are too many problems and every one needs a programmer to fix it. And my site is very simple now. While I’d like to make it more interesting, I fear making it more interactive is only going to escalate the troubles.

Editorial aside, here is the latest problem. I have been trying to upload an image when I am posting in my blog–or my home page for that matter–and every time (and I mean (EVERY TIME) the upload is complete, I get blown out of WP and have to sign in again. Needless-to-say, the download fails.

C’mon. I have guy who is traveling the world and upload pics to his blog post daily (a WP blog, btw) with no problem.

    No disrespect, but WTF WP?

  • Sounds like you should re-install your core files. It’s likely not an issue with WordPress per se, but rather a corrupt file, or a plugin that is causing your grief.

The WordPress core is very stable and bug-free as a whole. Plugins however, caveat emptor!

Thanks for the prompt reply. I’ll see what I can do.

If it is a plug-in, that’s simple enough. Just take all of them out (I don’t have but a few) and see if the upload works. Then reinstall one at a time to see if and who the offender is.

As for “reinstalling the core files”–if I knew what that meant, I’d give it a shot. But not being a programmer, I have no idea what or how to do that. The term “core” strikes me as kinda essential and I don’t want to tinker with it and create a bigger problem than I already have.

WP may be shorthand for WordPress, but recently, it’s beginning to stand for “Whatta Pain”.

    Sorry you’re having grief.

Re-installing the core files, really just means blowing away WordPress and starting again with a fresh install.

However, I’d lay odds that you have a plugin issue. Plugins can be written by everyone and their mother and can sometimes be buggy. Of course there are also many, many wonderful well written plugins out there as well!

Removed three plugins I really don’t use anyway which solved the problem. My thanks.

No worries. Always ready to stand up for the quality of the main WordPress code ?? !!
