    Hi All,

I have taken over a site which has a custom theme built on the Bones theme. I would post in that support forum however I could not find one as that theme does not appear to be in the wordpress themes directory anymore ??

Well the whole site is rather broken with the Bones theme active. Even the admin panel. The console is full of jQuery UI errors and many admin functions do not work at all due to these errors.

To ensure this is not related to any customizations made to the theme I downloaded the latest version of the Bones theme here: https://github.com/squibbleFish/theme-bones which was last updated 6 months ago so really should work. However it does not. Errors galore. I notice that the original version https://github.com/eddiemachado-zz/bones has been deleted which is concerning.

I have tried installing the jQuery Manager for WordPress and tried different jquery settings with no luck. The irony being that I could not even adjust the settings for this plugin with the bones theme active. I had to revert to twentytwentyone every time I needed to change a setting!

I really cannot rebuild the entire custom theme because “Bones” no longer works. The client does not have the budget for that.

What are my other options to fix this problem?

    Thanks,

    Nicole

I have resolved my own issue. There was a wayward addition of an old version of jQuery UI in the custom version of the Bones theme which was causing the problems. The problems with the latest bones theme appeared to be caching related as they have also gone away with the change to the custom theme.
