JS Minification causing Contact Form 7 error

  • Hi! I’ve had breeze plugin free with Caching and CloudwaysCDN activated for almost a year now without issues. I’ve also had HTML, CSS and JS minification activated. I recently discovered that JS Minification y causing an error on page load for the Contact Form 7 component and although it displays fine, its functionality is totally gone.
    I could bypass this issue by deactivating JS Minification, but I would like to have this issue solved in order to activate JS Minification again.

    Here is the error message displayed on the browser’s console:
    /comercio/damian-wasser-fotografia/contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/5160/refill?_locale=user:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

    I’m using WP 5.7 with latest MyListing Theme.
    PHP Version: 7.4

    Could you please provide the replication steps? As I have tested not able to reproduce the error.
    I was calling the form by using shortcode and enable JS minification but not able to reproduce it.

    This issue started occurring on several of our clients’ websites over the past few weeks. Here’s my report.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Install Breeze and Contact Form 7
    2. Configure Breeze as follows: https://pasteboard.co/JXRnp6a.png
    3. Leave any other options (e.g. advanced tab) on default
    4. Attempt to send e-mails through contact form

    Expected Results:
    Contact Form 7 should send e-mails after pressing Submit button

    Current Results:
    Instead of a confirmation message, a spinning “busy” icon appears indefinitely when pressing the “Submit” button on a Contact Form 7 contact form.

    Notes:

    1. Repro Rate: 100%

    3. Issue occurs whether WP Mail SMTP is installed (+correctly configured and confirmed working) or not
    4. Issue spotted on several websites: beauty-direct.de, michaelringeisen.com, kait-solutions.de, cvandenhout.de
    5. This is just a sample, we have yet to test all our clients’ websites for this issue

    7. fwiw, we don’t have JS minification activated on beauty-direct.de, but the issue still occurs.
    8. Issue seems to disappear for a while after installing updates in WP or after clearing Breeze cache, not sure which of the two does the trick.

    Lastly, I can’t say for sure if this is because of JS minification. After investigating the issue for the past few weeks, I just realized today Breeze is the culprit. I had it disabled since Monday, re-enabled it on Friday and got an e-mail from our client yesterday that her contact form was broken again. I gotta admit I simply deleted the plugin instead of doing any more fiddling. Our clients are upset enough as it is ??

    Happy to do some more tinkering on a staging environment in my spare time if you guys need any more info. Just shout.

    I’ve had this exact same problem on 3 sites now. The only reliable solution I’ve found thus far is to deactivate Breeze.
