This morning I tried to add some new products to our store but I got this error

    Hey!
    Something went wrong with sync.

    Last sync error:
    JSON ERROR:

Try to refresh data. If error persists, contact customer support.

We’ve been using the WooCommerce Printful integration since I think 2015 and have never had an issue. We haven’t added any new plugins, and everything is up to date plugin wise… On the Printful plugin status page it says “Looks like everything is set up correctly and Printful integration should work as intended.” and everything listed under the status says OK.

I’ve also checked with my hosting provider and they said everything is okay on their end and there have been no changes.

Now I’m not sure what to do as I’m not sure if our store is even working with Printful, I do know I can’t add any new products.

Hope you can help in getting me in the right direction.

I deactivated all plugins… same error.
I’ve checked all settings… permalinks, legacy API, web hooks… same error.

Contact Printful support and was told it was my issue and or my hosting providers issue.

Can’t anyone take responsibility for anything… you make it then make sure it works!

Now looking into other POD companies unless this can get worked out.

  • Hey there,

Thank you for reaching out to us with this concern!
The JSON error is a generic error that we receive when trying to connect to your server. Here are the steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Did you follow the integration steps exactly and completely?
    If not, please try again.
    2. Was everything working previously?
Have any updates been applied to your site or store lately, like a theme change or new plugin?
Try reversing any changes and disabling installed plugins to see if it works.
    3. Please try disabling plugins or themes that can be conflicting and try again.
    4. If the aforementioned steps do not work – please share your Website URL and WooCommerce System status (WooCommerce -> System status-> Get system report -> Copy for Support).

If you are still encountering these issues, please send us your WooCommerce system status to [email protected], we’d love to be of help!

I have a new store with Printful using the Woo Commerce/Printful plugin integration. I started having the same problem with the JSON error around the same time. I contacted Printful and they suggested that it may be a plugin issue. The store had been working fine for at least 3 weeks. I deactivated all plugins and I am still seeing the JSON error. I am unable to add any new products to my store and there seems to be no communication between Printful and Woo Commerce. I am very concerned and worried because I have spent so much time working to add products using this setup. I am not sure that I want to move forward. I am new to Printful and my site is not live to the public yet. If this had happened when customers are attempting to order products, it would be a huge disaster. I am sensing that the problem lies with the Printful/Woo Commerce plugin, as I now see that I am not the only one who has this issue and experienced it at around the same time. I was very hopeful with using Printful for my print on demand company, but I am very worried at this point. Please restore my trust.

I did all the suggestions that @everybear made above but I was never able to resolve the issue. What I did have to do to get it all working again was a disaster and very, very time consuming. Basically, I had create a new API key and setup everything again as if I never had a store before, I then re synced the store so that my products that where on my website would show up on Printful… once my products showed up on Prinful I had to go back and reconfigure every single product… meaning re add graphics, colors, sizes. It took a long time but I eventually got it all working again. This isn’t an issue with plugins nor is it a problem with WordPress or WooCommerce. I did try to get help directly from Prinful but the girl that helped my quickly blamed my web hosting who I also reached out to for help and they also found no issues on their end… I find that very appalling and unresponsible seeing that Printful actually makes money off our hard work and creations… without our products Printful would be selling Plain ol’ T-shirts. I will say, that If I have to do this again, I will be going to another company to fulfill my product orders.

Here’s my update. Looks like the problem is resolved. The error message is gone and I am now able to add products. Everything is synced. I’m not sure what happened, but everything looks good now. I will say that I am confident to give the Printful/Woo Commerce another go. Everything else has been great.

Hi @tjfisher! Thank you for your response! JSON errors by nature are generic and we would need more information regarding your WooCommerce end to find out what may be causing the problem. Sometimes, there can be an issue with an incompatible plugin or a theme, but we would need to gather as much information on the status of your WooCommerce store as possible to look into the problem further.
I am sorry to hear that our customer support team did not investigate the error deeper as they definitely should have gathered more information on your store and passed it along to our developers. We appreciate you sharing your experience with our customer support team and we’ll make sure that the communication is reviewed by our QA specialists and the quality concerns addressed with the agent. We certainly want you to receive the best customer care so your feedback and input is highly valuable to us.

If there’s anything we can help with, be sure to let us know!
