    Hello,
since a couple of days, I can’t update my website pages (not blog articles) where I have used the block “Icon list” from the plug-in Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg because I get the error message “The response is not a valid JSON response.”

The problem is that I can’t do anything: I can just open them, immediately click on “Update” (without making changes) and the error pops up. When deactivating the plug-in, the page does update.
I also experimented with troubleshooting and I deactivated all plug-ins except for the UG whilst changing my theme NEVE to one of the default themes (Twenty-Twenty) and the error still appeared.

I then tried emptying the cache, resetting the .htaccess page, and rollback the plug-in by two versions: nothing.

It is important to say that, two weeks ago, I had another compatibility problem with this plug-in, this time with the block “Testimonials”: after having updated WordPress, the pages where this block was used irreversibly crashed as soon as I tried to edit them. Visitors could see everything as it was before, but for me the whole page was not working in editing mode.
I cloned the pages: the new ones worked fine except for the Testimonial carousel block, which was corrupted. I solved simply by leaving the corrupted thing alone, NOT regenerating it. If I did, the new cloned page would crash. Visitors can see the carousel, so… I just let it be.

What can I do to solve the problem? Deinstall the plug-in would me having to redo half of the pages again!

    Sincerely,
    Elena

    Hello @elenavol ,

Some times it happens due to permalink structure. Could you please try the below steps –

    1. Go to Settings >> Permalinks
    2. Click the radio button to select Plain
    3. Click Save Changes

This a simple solution that works most of the time.

If you still facing any issues, please open a ticket from here.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Sweta
