  • @drsuccess thanks for opening a topic and providing the detailed screencast!

When you tried to Reset Site Kit, I noticed that the URL under Search Console was

    https://www.regenerateyourlife.org/blog

Could you confirm your WordPress Address and Site Address under General > Settings ?

We’re currently investigating Site Kit’s use in particular setups, why some work and others not. I’m curious if you have a particular WordPress setup that might be affected. Any detail is most appreciated!

@drsuccess I’m following up on your support topic to see if you were able to check the items above? Feel free to update us as soon as you’re able. Thank you!

Sorry I missed your earlier reply.

It’s not /blog/ but a few years ago it was a basic site with a WordPress installation in the blog subfolder. But this year it was converted into an entire WordPress installation. And yes, the URL is correctly set to the root.

So this might explain why GSC resorted to its old setup.

@drsuccess really appreciate the details. I’m going to share your case and screencast with the team. Could you tell me a few additional things:

    1) Was the site verified in Search Console before Site Kit?

    2) If so, do you recall which verification method was used and how the domain was listed? (i.e. was it a domain or URL pre-fix property)

    Thanks for any info!

It might have been under the old /blog/ version. I tried to add it with the new version (I’m the new webmaster and don’t have access to the old GSC).

The current version is both. I did it.

@drsuccess really appreciate this helpful information that I’ll share.

You may have tried this, but to confirm: could you deactivate, uninstall and reinstall Site Kit in an incognito browser. If you have caching and security plugins installed, deactivating them temporarily during this process would be helpful.

When you complete the setup process, could you tell me if you’re still get the errors and if the /blog domain is still displayed in the Search Console settings in Site Kit?

Again much appreciation for the info as we get to root of the issue.

Yes, I removed GSK, deleted the plugin, disabled caching, emptied all the caches, reinstalled the plugin in a private window:

    I get a “redirect_uri mismatch” error.

Thanks so much for your help, Renee.

Sure thing @drsuccess, we’re looking into it and hope to figure out the source soon. While you don’t have the /blog version of the site in Search Console, could you check the Webmaster Central Website with your Google Account and let me know the versions of the site that are listed there?

thanks @drsuccess ! Could you update to the most recent version 1.2.0 of the plugin and let us know if the issue persists?

    Thread Starter Michel Fortin

    (@drsuccess)

Nope. I cleared cache, updated, and tried. Got “Unknown Error (code: ‘redirect_uri’ mismatch).” Then I tried deleting the plugin, remove it completely, clearing all caches, reinstall it, and tried it again. Same error messager.

thanks for the update @drsuccess ! We really appreciate your feedback/ help and patience as we work to get this resolved.

@drsuccess just a follow up that we’re still tracking your issue. We’ve just released version 1.3.0 of the plugin. There is a particular fix for supporting domain property option in Search Console that prevents a URL-prefix property (from being created additionally). To rule this out as the cause could you:

    1) Remove the URL-prefix https://www.regenerateyourlife.org/ property from your Search Console account.

    2) Reset and delete Site Kit the previous version 1.2.0.

    3) Install and activate the new version 1.3.0 and go through the setup process.

I hope this helps, but please update us at your convenience. Again, thank you!

    (@drsuccess)

Nope. Still says “Unknown Error (code: ‘redirect_uri’ mismatch).”

@drsuccess appreciate the update. We were able to look into your particular case with the team. I’ll circle back with further updates on our side.
