• Problem: NextGEN gallery that is embedded in a post will jump to the top of the page on a mouse click of ‘NEXT.

I’ve seen several threads on this issue but they’re all fairly old and the latest work-around is three years old and requires that I delete lines from javascript code.

That’s a fairly major kludge, in my opinion.

The problem makes the plug-in, frankly, unusable so I’m wondering if there is a clean fix available and/or what am I missing.

    Many thanks.

@kanick – Have you tried turning on Ajax Pagination for these galleries? This should sort out the issue, provided you are using the default (blank) template setting as well.

    Thanks!

thank you for responding, i did try that and it hasn’t helped.

it turns out clicking ‘next’ creates a new URL. from my stats i can that all my viewers at:

    are exiting on

    ??

I’m having the same issue at https://www.innatblackberrycreek.com/cms/suites-and-rates/

The embedded images works fine with Version 1.9.12 but when I update to a later version – just updated to Version 2.0.61 – it always jumps to top of page when one of the “next” or “back” buttons are clicked.

When you have 4 images stacked on a page it’s really awkward to have to then scroll all the way back down to the image you were looking at.

My client is complaining so I rolled back to Version 1.9.12 until I find a solution.

After reading the above about Ajax Pagination – which I’m unfamiliar with – I Googled it and get so many articles and different versions that it’s really overload for me. Can someone be more specific about how using one of them will fix the problem and which one to try?

If I can’t find a solution I can live with the current older version just to keep my client off my back.

    Thanks

@kanick – Did you turn on Ajax Pagination for that specific ImageBrowser display or did you just turn it on under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic ImageBrowser?

Turning on the option under the Gallery Settings will only affect ImageBrowser displays inserted afterward it will not affect any existing (ATP) inserted galleries.

    Thanks!

@photocrati – thanks for the reply. Alax Pagination is a solution… can you tell me if clickthroughs count towards pageviews using this solution?
