Junk Email via this Template?

  • I installed a very recent installation of wordpress with two things, one was Astra, the other was Contact Form 7. I also created a fresh new email address and ONLY placed it on a wordpress page that is password protected, it’s never seen the light of day and isn’t an admin email address.

    Now I’m receiving direct email spam to the email address and I’m wondering if Astra is behind this. Anyone else have spam thrown at them soon after using Astra as your theme?

  • Hi @thriftyplanet,

    Definitely Astra has nothing to do with this. If you would like to check out, you can temporarily switch to a default WordPress theme and as long as the spam bot is still targeting your contact form, I am sure you will still receive the spam email.
