• Hi, I’d like to add a blog to my website as a tab. In other words, I don’t want to do my whole site as a wordpress site, I just want wordpress to be a part of the site that is a blog. I’ve set it up, and it works. But I’m not a big fan of the default theme. However, all the themes I’m finding online both free and premium are just too much. All I want is a very basic good old-fashioned blog theme. Something that would let me put pretty long posts on the main page, have categories on the side, a tag cloud and archives for older stuff. That’s it. Can anyone recommend one? Ideally I’d like it to be dark colors. It’s going to go here: https://www.pixeltrics.com/ Thanks.

  • Why not just use Twenty Eleven with the Dark skin?

Thanks, that’s what I started with, but I don’t need that big image in the middle it just wastes space, and I would like it to match my site a little more… I guess I can learn how to customize it…

There are more basic, bare-bones, themes but I don’t think any of them come with a dark skin. In Twenty Eleven, you can use the Appearance->Header to turn the banner image off.
