Hi,
We just had someone try to place an order on our site, but its clearly a fraud attempt. The order has probably thousands of failed credit card attempts all with different card numbers but the same expiration. Different names too. I noticed each time the person/bot/whatever tried the name on the order would change. The IP address in the order changes as well. It seems like it stopped for now but there are so many credit card declined messages in that order, that the page struggles to load.
This has me very concerned. I certainly don’t want our site to be associated with fraud. What should I do? I’ve never had this happen before.

Sorry this is happening to your store @panzitta.
If it seems bots are after your site then you may need to look into further security measures.
I would suggest looking into WooCommerce Anti-Fraud: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-anti-fraud/
Additionally, address validation may help: https://woocommerce.com/products/postcodeaddress-validation/

Do you happen to know if I use the reCaptcha for Woocommerce plugin, if the user would have to re-verify the captcha after each failed card attempt or would they be able to just verify it once and run their bot like before?

Adding a ReCaptcha is a great idea as customers would be required to solve the captcha before they can place an order.

The reCaptcha for WooCommerce extension is a premium plugin sold and supported at WooCommerce.com, which makes it outside the scope of this forum.
