Just hangs and hangs and hangs

  • Updated earlier today. And everything seemed fine.
    Tonight I log in, and often (more often than not) I can’t navigate to the other menus. For example if I try to manage a page. IT hangs and hangs and hangs. Sometimes I can’t even log on. This is MADDENING!!!!!

    IF I click edit on one my pages, it hand and hangs and hangs. Jesus FREAKEN &*%^**%.

    Oh, when I CAN access something to edit, it defaults to the code instead of the visual tab.
    Once I got as far as being able to insert a link BUT instead of describing normal fields (ie. insert link) , it had weird coding ({$lang_insert_link_url}

    I’ve spent approx 8-12 hours trying to resolve issue after issue. I’m close to giving up

    Me again. Oddly enough firefix doesn’t seem to have the same issue. But I’m still not seeing the “visual” tab.

    mine hang too after upgraded to wp 2.1 from 2.0.5. all my plugins works perfectly. now hang till i have resort to ctrl-alt-del. my cpu 100% usage. how this happening… i noticed in the status bar.. it just says transfering data from my site… and hang. i wonder why i upgrade.

    Did you both deactivate your plugins prior to install per instructions? If not, deactivate all of them and reactivate one by one testing in between.

    thanks i got it fixed after a few coffee and late morning sleep. just one of the plugin… old and un updated. thanks. it faster than ever…and i epsecially love the upload and image displaying in group of pages… cool.

    YOu guys seem to having the same issues I do … but you guys seem to have fixed them… can you help?

    Issue#1…

    The editing box will not display the “visual” version of what I put in a post (same is true of “manage/page”)

    The two tabs are there… Visual/Code… but the display box only has code in it and when you click the tabs it does nothing.

    Issue#2…

    I downloaded a new editing tool (plugin = fckeditor) and it worked fine the first time i used it…

    But when I logged off an logged back on later, a similar thing happened…

    The edit box flashed for less than a second and then went blank (fckeditor does not have an automatic tab for Code display.. it defaults to Visual)

    I went to the FTP cient… deleted all the plug-in files and re-loaded but the same thing

    The title bar is there and I can type in it.. and all the edit menus are there — sidebar and bottom… but NO editing box and no Visual display.

    SO…..

    Something has to be wrong with the WordPress code in how it’s triggering the “Visual”.. any ideas on what to look for or how to fix it??

    I am a total newbie and don’t know much about HTML code.
