Just Installed – Working, but Errors

    Okay,so I was really weary about installing WordPress for my site, but after testing it out on an offline server, it seemed good enough for the job.
    However after installing it on a live server (although not viewable yet!) there are a few errors.
    The first one is when trying to add a page, I get “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_get_referer() in /home2/mak0sch/public_html/poisonpeas/wp-admin/edit-page-form.php on line 17”.

    There is also an error when adding a link. I get “Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_get_referer() in /home2/mak0sch/public_html/poisonpeas/wp-admin/link-manager.php on line 132” after filling in all the info about the link. Although it actually does add to the database – the error annoys me.
    On my test server, it didnt do anything like this – now I am put off using it as I haven’t really changed anything.

  • I’d be more put off with whatever you used to upload the WP files to that server… sure doesn’t sound like they all made the trip.

    Maybe start by re-uploading the files? If using an FTP client, ensure that you’re uploading the .php files in text/ascii mode.

    I tried uploading the whole lot again but this time i get a “Warning: Missing argument 2 for add_action() in public_html/poisonpeas/wp-includes/functions.php on line 1306

    I know this isnt your fault, but i just don’t see why uploading it would cause loads of errors like this.
    Admitedly my version on the server is different to the latest but that shouldnt matter.
    I guess i’ll just keep uploading until it works – shame, the site was promised tonight ??
