    That is false.

There is no subscription needed at all — nor are any subscriptions available anyway.

You can create all the places you need under the SSO > Places settings page and places can be selected for organizations, event locations, job locations, and many more. There is a Premium version available (a lifetime license, not a subscription), but that is only useful only for those sites wishing to enter singular place information for post/page content that includes only a singular place or location.

@netzaufsicht I’m flagging your account for moderation. As a fellow plugin developer, you know that providing reviews is the best way to help people make better products. But that suggests that people would leave accurate and helpful reviews. Calling something ‘spam’ without explaining why you think so.

This plugin has no functions that work without a paid subscription.

A quick look at this plugin’s code shows that to be incorrect. Three are many functions and features available on the free version. Yes, more for pay, but are you SURE you were looking at this plugin?

    1. the plugin allows to set up a place under Places >> Manage Places
2.under the second tab on that screen you can select “Show Tab on Post Types”
Help text promise: “A “Schema Place” tab can be added to the Document SSO metabox on Posts, Pages, and custom post types, allowing you to select or enter place information for the webpage content (ie. street address, GPS coordinates, opening hours, etc.).
    3. if e.g. opening a post heading down to the “Schema Place” in the “Document” SSO tab you do get only the message “Purchase the WPSSO PLM Premium add-on to upgrade and get the following features.”
AND EXACLY THIS NON_FUNCTIONAL tab is the reason, why this is plugin not helpful at all, well it is for promotional issues.

You’ve misread the page. That message is clearly under the heading “Upgrade to WPSSO PLM Premium”

    Thread Starter kontur.us

    (@netzaufsicht)

@ipstenu It is NOT ALL under a heading “Upgrade…”
You might want to install the plugin to check for yourself.
    The message appears under ?page=wpsso-plm-general#sucom-tabset_plm-tab_settings
    Headed by “Add-on Settings”.
And if it would state what you mean, this would be even more ridiculous, because THAN it would say right on the settings page, that this plugin has NO FUNCTION at all but to promote a paid plugin.

I did. It’s on the sidebar for me. Maybe your browser’s displaying it wrong, but it’s absolutely 100% clearly shown for me.

    Here’s a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/1ffuIVM

Look, I’m not saying this plugin is well documented (it doesn’t explain how to use it, and most of the readme is about upsells), but if you install it, make a place, and have Facebook set up, it does exactly what it claims.

Add Facebook / Open Graph location, Pinterest Rich Pin place, and Google Local Business / SEO markup.

That’s it. It does that. That’s all it does. It’s not a scam, it’s not useless. It’s just a single small thing.

    1. here is a screenshot. if what you state is absolutely clear to everyone, and we all now have to read all advertisements (which should not even spam the backend)

    View post on imgur.com

    2. “…and Google Local Business / SEO markup. ” does not happen at all. NONE of it is added at the website. So what is the Add-On for? To fill in a form to create a table with information that will be added to the site, once I buy a premium version? I do not get it.

    3. For sure my wording was harsh, but schema.org data is not very complicated, so if this plugin is not supposed to do anything, then at least all non-working tabs should be deactivated. But then again, what exactly does this plugin add?

    3. For sure my wording was harsh,

Right. Stop doing that please ?? It’s not helping you or anyone else to be harsh, especially when you don’t give anyone the respect to explain what you’re thinking any why.

Be the review you would want to have. That is, be a review that explains WHY something is wrong or bad. Otherwise no one will listen to you.

    2. “…and Google Local Business / SEO markup. ” does not happen at all. NONE of it is added at the website. So what is the Add-On for? To fill in a form to create a table with information that will be added to the site, once I buy a premium version? I do not get it.

Now see THAT is your review! “I installed the plugin and filled in the form and nothing happened.” And you tell them “There’s no documentation to explain how to use this plugin.”

I would note, a better approach is to make a support post first and ask “How do I use this?” but we don’t make people do that.

But. If you want to leave a GOOD review (and I stress – good does not mean 5 stars, it means a review that helps the developer and users understand why you feel the way you do, and what your experience was in trying to use the plugin), then you have to step back and explain what you’re thinking.

No one can read minds here and when all you do is throw out accusations like this plugin is a scam, you’re not helping anyone, least of all yourself.

@netzaufsicht Please keep in mind that this is an add-on, which is designed to add functionality that most users do not need, but some do, so these features are provided by an add-on and not included in the core plugin.

The WPSSO PLM add-on features are pretty simple, and explained in the add-on description:

Provides place and location information for WPSSO Core and its add-ons:

The WPSSO Core plugin can use place information for Facebook / Open Graph location, Pinterest Rich Pin place, and Local SEO meta tags.

The WPSSO Organization add-on can assign place information to its organizations (ie. content publisher, event organizer, etc.).

The WPSSO Schema JSON-LD Markup add-on can use place information for the Schema Event location, Schema Job Posting location, and the Schema Place type (and its sub-types) for post / page content about specific places and locations.

As the description states, the WPSSO PLM add-on “provides place and location information for WPSSO Core and its add-on” – that’s what it does – provides place information to WPSSO Core and its add-on.

If you’re just using the WPSSO PLM add-on with the core plugin, then the first set of features would be available (ie. place information for Facebook / Open Graph location, Pinterest Rich Pin place, and Local SEO meta tags).

If you had the WPSSO ORG add-on also enabled, you would get the second set of features as well (ie. assign place information to its organizations).

And if you had the WPSSO JSON add-on enabled, you would get the third set of features as well (ie. use place information for the Schema Event location, Schema Job Posting location, and the Schema Place type (and its sub-types) for post / page content about specific places and locations).

I am just talking about this plugin, which you call “add-on”. Question is somehow, why you would not add core features into a single plugin?
This plugin did not add ANTYTHING to the site at all, even though all fields have been filled in under “Manage Places”
“and Local SEO meta tags.”<< exactly THAT does not happen at all.

    Plugin Author JS Morisset

    (@jsmoriss)

@netzaufsicht Looking at the screenshot you provided earlier, it appears that you may be entirely focused on the “Place” tab in the Document SSO metabox. Very few people have an entire post / page content about a single place – usually content would be about an organization or an event, instead of a house for example, and that organization or event would have an associated location. The Premium version does offer custom place information for singular posts / pages about a single place, but it’s quite rare that sites have these kinds of posts / pages, and if they do, the custom nature of entering that kind of information usually requires some level of Premium support (which often entails explaining that they should use a different Schema type, with associated location information, instead of a Schema Place type). The add-on description attempts to explain this:

The Place and Local SEO Markup Standard add-on is designed to satisfy the requirements of most standard WordPress sites. If your site offers post / page content about single places, then you may want to get the WPSSO PLM Premium add-on to enter custom place information for content about single places (ie. not place information for the locations of other Schema types, like organizations, events, job postings, etc.).

[Premium] Includes a Schema Place tab in the Document SSO metabox to select an existing place or enter custom place information for post / page content about specific places and locations.
