    Hi there,

Since the last update from February 13, we are experiencing some issues which might be related.

First we got aware that at least one file was suddenly missing. A monitoring tool alerted us, as the file is used on many pages. It was from 01/2017, with a non-standard size of 192×192.

When I tried to see if replacing the original file (original.png) with “Just replace the file” in order to potentially also recreate that size (original-192×192.png), Enable Media Replace renamed the uploaded file instead adding a -1 (original-1.png). I tried again and it created -2 (original-2.png).

Now I have more than one file missing.

I have several somewhat related plugins installed most notable one first:
    – WP Offload Media (Updated: February 16, 2022) -> after the issue first occurred, the update has not resolved issue
    – Regenerate Thumbnails (Updated: March 8, 2021)
    – Simple Local Avatars (Updated: July 30, 2021)

Any idea what might have deleted that file, and what the issues with “Just replace the file” might be?

    Thanks,
    Albert

    Hi Albert!

I don’t think this is related to Enable Media Replace, because the -X suffixes are added by WordPress upon uploading an image with the same filename.

Just to make sure, can you please deactivate all plugins except Enable Media Replace and try to reproduce the issue? If it works correctly, then you should enable every plugin one by one until you find out where the problem is.

    Have a nice Sunday!

    Hi Gerard!

    Thanks for the quick answer.

    Good to know.

Fair enough. This will take a while, but will let you know in case I find something useful.

    All the best!

I am looking at installing this plugin but we use WP Offload and was wondering if that plugin was causing the problem? If so, did you resolve the issue?

@mrodwin I might not be able to properly test this as it only happened on a production site and not on local or staging, where the setups are slightly different and hard to fully replicate.
