Just some thoughts, plugin looking good

  • Hi.
    Just testing your plugin and would like to make some suggestions ??

    • Could the taxonomies be optional? If switched off, the respective admin links could be ommitted.
    • If statistics are switched off, could the statitstics link also be omitted?
    • Lastly, if logging and debug mode are off, could “Logs” be omitted?

    This is in no way meant as criticism. I’m really just into keeping the admin navigation as short as possible ??

    Oh, and mainly out of curiosity: Why do you use two URL parameters instead of just one?

    Hi, All those 3 features are optional. You don’t have to used them. However, the links to the menu items will be there in the admin menu (whether you use it or not).

    What do you mean by two URL parameters? Can you give an example maybe?

    Hi.
    That’s exactly what I meant to suggest – if a feature is unused it would be nice to be able to actually deactivate it.

    Speaking of the URL parameters I really was cryptic. The buttons’ hrefs have query strings like /?smd_process_download=1&download_id=123 Really just wondering.

    Thing is: my intention is to use the plain links in various places where some fancy elements (that can’t take nested shortcodes within) link to a certain file. That’s how I noticed. It’s not an issue at all, just made me wonder ??
