Just the theme I’m looking for as a modern base theme

I want a theme, a genuine theme, that is like a blank theme, a theme I can easily fork (copy, give credit to, but make my own) that is like a blank theme, but comes with WordPress editor (and graphic design) best practices built in; yet flexible, to change according to my site building needs. And that comes with so many useful patterns. And a lot of pedagogy (its own site, tutorials, support). A clean yet rich theme that shows the new WordPress way.
