Just want to cry. Don’t use if stackstaging – I can’t restore my site! </3

  • I was trying to move my site from stackstaging to live and backed up in case of an error. I thought this plugin would suffice as it had great reviews. Sadly, my attempt to move my site failed and I lost the stackstaging site. Luckily, I thought, I have my backup files. Unfortunately as the new site is a different domain (not stackstaging) I can’t restore with this plugin. I’m really upset as I spent many weeks on my site.

    Hi Ellemb,

    Good afternoon! As per the plugin description, the free www.ads-software.com plugin is a backup/restore plugin, and there is a cheap paid add-on for cloning a site: https://updraftplus.com/shop/migrator/ . I don’t entirely follow how any of this would cause you to lose your original site – reading between the lines, that is unrelated? In any case, the migration addon can be used with your backup files even if the original site has been lost.
