• This little plugin is exactly what I was looking for to make adding hyperlinks in image captions easy for my client! Thus far it’s been working flawlessly.

A couple of ideas to make it even better:

1.) Can this plugin use the native WP “Add Link” popup window that allows users to either paste in a hyperlink or choose from existing pages/posts? It would be great to have that kind of consistency with the hyperlink interface.

2.) If #1 isn’t possible, can we at least get an option to “open link in new window”?

Again, thanks for your hard work on this awesome plugin!

Awesome! I’m glad it helped, I was surprised to find that nobody had built something like this before.

I will look into the native WordPress link functionality, I hadn’t even considered that that might be available outside of TinyMCE. If it is, I’d much rather use that as it will allow them to search for website content.

Hey thanks so much for the quick response! And so glad to hear you’re willing to look into that feature.

I use a slider plugin called Soliloquy (https://soliloquywp.com/) which utilizes that native WordPress link popup window I was referring to, so I’m guessing it’s possible. However actually making it work is probably beyond my own expertise.

    Hey evster,

The latest version of this plugin will now ask you if you would like to open the link in a new tab.

I have explored the WordPress link functionality, and have yet to come up with a solution that is as simple as what we have right now. I’ll continue to explore.

    Thanks,
    Mike
