actually they didnt. I didn’t really understand what I needed to do. I tried putting

<?php include(ABSPATH . ‘/jvisitors.php’); ?>

into my ‘template’ (which I assume to be another name for the ‘index.php’ file that resides in my themes/carrots folder?)

and it resulted in my uri leading straight to jvisitors.php

so…I need some kind of idiots guide

sorted it, miraculously. if anyone else has the same problem:

if (!isset($_SESSION[‘JOE_VISITOR_ID’]))
$_SESSION[‘JOE_VISITOR_ID’] = md5(time());
