After running fine for months, my JWPlayer videos no longer show up. There’s just a black box where the player should be. I’m using JWPlayer 1.7.2. Videos are in an Amazon S3 Bucket, streamed by Amazon Cloud.
Here’s a link to one of the pages containing videos: https://rockitscience.com/hotcoldfizzyvideo/
To see the page, use this temporary login: s2member
    And this pwd: S2Memb-Supp
Here’s a sample of the code I’m using:

Here's a short Preview of the lesson.

  • Have you just updated to WordPress 4.1?

Our ISP does the upgrades automatically, and I’m not sure when the last upgrade was done. But these videos are on a very low-traffic part of our site, so the problem might have occurred a week ago or more before I discovered it. Thanks.

I know it’s a bit late for this issue, but I’d advise installing a logging plugin or two so that you know exactly what has been happening on your site, and can then identify the causes of new problems more easily. I recommend Aryo and Plainview.

As to the specifics of this particular problem, I’ll bow out now because I don’t use the JWPlayer, and will let someone who does chime in. Or, if you have the Pro version, you could report this to Pro support.

    Thanks for the suggestion, KTS915.

I tried upgrading to JWPlayer 2.1.9, and now I’m getting an “Invalid License Key” error. I realize I need to address that with JWPlayer, but I’m wondering if there’s another video player that works better with S2Member Pro? (My videos are in an Amazon S3 Bucket, streamed by Amazon Cloud.)

I suggest trying out FV WordPress Flowplayer. There’s a free version in the repo, and a Pro version for a one-off price.

JW Player gave me the solution. When you update, the new version defaults to JW Player 6. I had to revert to JW Player 5. Problem solved.
