Hello, I am trying out the Kale free theme on a web site that is not yet published. I realize that I can’t get the full blog post to show up on the front page without the Pro version, but I can’t seem to view a full blog post at all. Even if I click down to view one post, it still only shows a summary of the post?

I have a menu item based on a category. When I click on the menu item, it properly shows me my multiple blog post summaries on the page, but when I click on one post to view the whole thing, it still only shows me the summary?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Hi cmasiello,

I don’t use the Pro version but I’m still able to have one large post displayed on the static front page, which you can just enable by going to Theme > Customize > Front page. Have you tried that?

As for the blog post issue, it’s hard to say without access to the website.

    Hi vitrang161,

I don’t actually want the blog post on my home page, I just saw another post that said that wasn’t possible with out pro. I only want to view my full blog post once I click on the post, but for some reason that’s not working. I just want to make sure it’s possible with the free version. I’m pretty sure it is based on the demo, but I’m just not sure why it’s not working for me.

    Thanks for the help!

You definitely can read the full post on the free version. Can you quickly disable password protect and link us to your site so we can have a quick look?

Good to know I can view the full post. I just changed it to another theme and the same issue is happening so it must be some other setting not specific to Kale. I’m not ready to open it up the site yet, but thanks for the offer to help!

I figured out the issue. I had an template plugin installed that wasn’t fully configured that was causing the issue. I deactivated it and now the full blog post shows up properly, yay!
