    Hi there,
Just installed this plugin on a local testing machine.
I added some categories and wrote some articles.
I’m trying to reach the kbase homepage and can’t seem to. When clicking on “knowledgebase” in breadcrumbs I always reach the first article I created instead of the homepage.
    Help please?

    Thanks,
    R

I’m just releasing an update now which may fix your issue – it is to do with assigning the page template. Please update and let me know if you’re still experiencing problems. If so, I probably also do need to see the issue in order to help you further with this one.

    Thanks,
    Maeve

    Hi there Maeve,
I installed the new version (1.0.1) and I’m still experiencing the same issue.

Ok thanks for reporting back Ron. To help you with this further I really need to see the issue. Seeing as its not happening for me, are you able to post a link to your site or steps/environment to replicate the error?

    Thanks,
    Maeve

    Hi there,
this is a local test site, which I don’t mind posting to you.
However, not being a developer, you’ll have to guide me as to what you need me to send. Which folder to zip.

Ok before we resort to that, let’s try this:

    1. Please can you post some screenshots showing the issue

    2. Please can you confirm that you are using the page generated by the plugin, have a slug set (and that the slug matches), the KBE shortcode is on that page, and the page template is set to “KBE”. Again… maybe some screenshots confirming all these things.

    Thanks,
    Maeve

    Hi Maeve,
I’m not sure what “page generated by the plugin” means. Which page? Used for what? Where do I set this?

    Plugin Contributor Maeve Lander

    (@enigmaweb)

Via “Pages” in your WordPress backend.

When you install the plugin, a Page will be created automatically for the Knowledgebase, and the page template KBE will be assigned. By default it is at /knowledgebase If you want to create your own page you can do so, but make sure you manually assign the KBE page template and update the slug on the plugin Settings screen.

    Hi Maeve,
so indeed I have a page in pages called knowledgebase and in it there is a single line of code: [kbe_knowledgebase]
But why doesn’t it give me the homepage for the knowledgebase? Where is the homepage with the search bar and the list all the articles?
Instead it shows me the first article I wrote.

    1. Please confirm that the Page in question is using the template “KBE”.

    2. Please try resaving your permalink structure.

    Hi Maeve,
    updating the permalinks helped.
    Thanks!
