Keep being logged out of dashboard

    I’ve been running wordpress since january with no problems – until around may. Since then I have been getting logged out multiple times when in the dashboard – when making posts it is frustrating as I lose the content each time I hit ‘publish’ or ‘save draft’ as I’ve been logged out. It happens every 1-3 minutes and I am at my wits end.

    I have been in contact with my host as I know I should upgrade at some point, but I can’t get a reply from him re having access to the files so I can back up. I’m too scared to update without backing up first.

    I have seen a fix to change the theme back to twenty eleven, but I’m really happy with the theme I have and don’t want to change it unless I have to.

    Has anyone else suffered from this, and if so how do I fix it? I’m seriously thinking about using another blogging platform!

    btw it happens in both firefox and safari, and I’ve looked at cache and cookie settings.
