Keep getting logged out after using HTML anchor

  • I have inserted a HTML anchor halfway down my page and put a custom link in the navigation menu to link to the anchor. Whenever i click on the link in the navigation menu and get redirected to the anchor, i am then unable to come out of that page without wordpress logging me out. When i try and log in again i am unable to as i get error messages saying the username or password are incorrect.

    If i open a new tab in the browser and go to my sites admin login page and enter my login details, i get another error message saying cookies are blocked or not supported by my browser. It is only once i shut down my browser and open a new instance of the browser that i can log in again.

    I have tried deleting the anchor and link and then adding it again but i still get the same issue. I purged the cache as well but this doesn’t solve the problem either.

    Does anyone know of this issue with using page anchors?

    Maybe refresh your coockies and browser cache? Also check the link of the anchor. Maybe you accidentally added something extra here.

    I did already refresh cache and it didn’t solve anything. clearing cookies also doesn’t solve the issue. I also created a new page and added an anchor and i get the same issue.

    I have another website and the anchors work fine on that site.

    First of all Check your browser settings Clear existing cookies, Check browser extensions or Try a different browser Update your browser, hope so your issue will be fix.

    Ok I just solved it. I went through all my plugins and deactivated them one by one to see what the culprit is and yes there is a Kadence Transitions plugin which was causing the issue. Have deactivated it and now i don’t have any issue.
