Keep Latest Post not working, any ideas?

The keep latest post features does not seem to be working for me.
I am able to drop down select, the option to keep the latest post.
But when deleting posts, it shows the duplicates, it has selected, but always deletes the newer post rather than the older post.

Is there another settting or somewhere in the code to change the default to ‘keep latest’ and see if that works?

Thanks for any suggestions or input on this feature, if anyone else has gotten this to work for this plugin, or another plugin to try.
