Keep oEmbed link from showing on Blog Roll/Archive Page?

  • How does one keep the link for a video from showing in the blog roll? I’m glad that embedding media is so easy and it appears how it should in the single post view, but in the archive-view where it’s part of the blog roll, the link is shown at the beginning of the paragraph for its respective feature and it’s just kind of awkward.

  • A lot of this depends on how your particular theme has set up the blog page, but the easiest thing to try is adding a custom excerpt for the posts and controlling what’s seen. If Excerpt isn’t showing up as an option on your Posts, go to screen options at the very top and check off Excerpt. Then whatever you put in that field will be what shows up on the archive view.
