• Just to say my website is at https://www.mutantspace.ie and it works fine but there is a problem:
in my crawl errors in google webmaster tools I keep getting the following e.g. https://www.mydomain.ie/post/function.file-get-contents for 100s of posts

I don’t know what /function.file-get-contents means and id like to get rid of the problem but i have no idea how and i dont know what it means? Do i simply put it in my robots.txt?

Im getting 100s errors with this string.
    Anyone any ideas?
    Please…..
    – this is driving me crazy

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

thanks for that – ill try that – problem is ill have to deactivate them for nearly 24 hours as the crawel errors wont come up til then and going one by one will take a while…unless theres a way of checking…how do i reset the plugins folder by ftp?

sorry yep missed the link. i checked plugins but all inactive plugins were deleted. however i did notice that i accidently had a google sitemap generator plugin and a sitemap feed plugin working at the same time in my plugins folder so i deleted the feed – dont knowe why i had that? could 2 sitemap plugins cause a /function.file-get-contents string on the end of every post i write?
ill go about resetting in the morning but i dont have any inactive plugins…i do have a ‘drop in’ which is an advanced-cache.php apparently
dropins are ‘Drop-ins are advanced plugins in the /wp-content directory that replace WordPress functionality when present’ but i have no idea what that means really only that i use super cache plugin.
    anyu help is gratefully accepted….

    It’s possible – yes.

Super cache is a plugin. You will need to check the plugin’s documentation for details of any steps you need to take to deactivate it.
