Keep seeing an update when there is none

Every time I login, I see an update (for what it unknown) is available. However, when I go and click on the Updates link I see that everything is upto date. When a genuine update is available (for plugins or themes) I see the number of updates is 1 more than the available updates. However, again when I update everything it goes away and is seen again when I log back in. This isn’t breaking anything but its annoying.
