I can log in if I rename the plugin.
I had the alternate url active – (changed from wp-admin to something else) and that worked for a while
I also had the math problem (but that kept failing) so I turned it off.

Turning those two things off worked for a while but then I started getting blocked from my IP so I whitelisted my IP and I’m still getting blocked.

I tried editing the database and removing my blocked IP as instructed in one of the topic.
I tried removing the plugin and adding it back in as instructed in one of the topics.
It seems to work for a little then it fails.

I wonder if I have a general wordpress failure that is causing the plugin to fail. I love it the plugin.

    What can I do?
    I currently have it off.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, do you have a network setup? Do you have more than one admin in your site? Do you have a cache plugin? Do you use CDN for your site?

I don’t know what you mean by network setup?
    Yes we have multiple admins
I have had the caching enabled and disabled with the same effect.

We use Constant Contact and Contact Forms to collect info, but I don’t think we are using this site as a CDN.

Hi, if you have multiple admins in your site do they use different IP addresses or the same IP address as you? If they use different IP address, have these IP addresses also been whitelisted? If they use the same IP address as you, is there a chance that one or more of the other admins have locked themselves out?

    Thread Starter PCHAmedia

    (@pchamedia)

We both originate from the same static IP (it’s whitelisted). I’ll check all 4 admins to make sure no one is locked but I don’t know if that is it.

Do you want me to turn it on for you so you may see?

Before you turn it on, find out first from your other admins if they were locked out.

    You mentioned the following.

We both originate from the same static IP (it’s whitelisted).

But then you mention, I’ll check all 4 admins. Does that mean that you have 6 admins altogether using the same static IP address?

I have looked and below is accurate. Sorry for the confusion.

We have 3 total admins. Two admins log in from the same IP (our company IP). The third admin is a consultant that logs in from a different IP which is unknown.

The only lock outs I know of are the two admins that attempt to log in from that same IP. The consultant does not use our wordpress unless we give them work and that is not a lot of the time.

Thank you for clarifying your situation further.

If you use the Whitelisting feature in the plugin, you need to add all IP addresses that will be login into your site regardless whether it is once a week or once a year. If you don’t then at any time that someone tries to log from an IP address that is not whitelisted, they will be locked out.

Is your company behind a proxy server or firewall with a different IP address?

The locking out of the two admins that use the same IP address, were they locked out because they typed in the wrong username?

I’m glad we are narrowing down our issue. Here is what I have done in the user login section.

The top section of user login is all checked except for ALLOW UNLOCK REQUESTS

The bottom section is not enabled.

I will watch it and see what and who locks us out if any and I will report back if trouble happens.

That is a good idea. Looking forward for you reporting back.

    Kind regards
