• While editing and testing site, I noticed the rotating tweets output that I had in my 3rd footer widget suddenly looked different than earlier today. On investigation, I realize that the plugin was no longer in footer widget 3 but had moved to one of the top widgets. I am not using ANY top widgets.

Is this a WordPress bug or what? I was able to recreate my original setup but I want to avoid this happening again in case I’m not monitoring things every moment.

I recently updated to the latest version of WP but did not update the theme I’ve built off of to avoid any overwriting of custom changes.

To be fair, another plugin’s location was ALSO moved from the footer to the top widgets.

NOTE that the actual output of these plugins never moved to the top widgets (wherever that might be) and remained in the footer, but the appearance>widgets admin page said they had.

However, the rotating tweets layout DID change from being below my Category Posts output to being beside them…I’m fine with that but it worries me that WP seems to be misrepresenting which plugin is where.

It sounds like it might be a WordPress bug – possibly relating to some theme code – since I don’t think there’s any code in Rotating Tweets which interacts with these variables.

Does it help if you remove and then re-add them?
