Hello, I have recently updated Yoast SEO (free) and have been experiencing issues when opening product pages (from WooCommerce) in the backened.

I have disabled plugins/changed themes to test what was causing the issue and with the Yoast SEO plugin disabled everything is working fine.

The main issue being that when I open the editor for a product page (I don’t get this issue, from what I can see, on other pages on the website just products) it keeps opening a preview page in a new tab. It continuously does this whenever I click on anything (such as adding text/changing details) on a page which makes it difficult to edit.

    Please could you advise?

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with our plugin. The issue you experiencing is very odd and never seen a similar report before.

We see that you have already performed a conflict check and when Yoast SEO is disabled, the issue no longer persists.

Can you please confirm whether you are running the latest version of Yoast SEO and WordPress?

In addition, can you please confirm whether the issue persists when using a different modern browser while all the browser extensions are disabled (Incognito mode)?

It seems it might be similar to the issue this person is having: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/latest-version-broke-woocomerce/

Yes I have the latest version of Yoast SEO (Version 15.3) and WordPress (Version 5.5.3). Also the WooCommerce version I have is Version 4.7.0.

Issue persists even in incognito mode (Google Chrome I’m using by the way). I have also tried Safari and I’m getting the same issues.

It basically loads the product page and then when I go to scroll down it refreshes the page and opens in a new tab a preview of the page (which isn’t an actual preview as it just shows the footer). And then when I try to add any text or interact with the page at all in opens another preview of the page and continues to do so. I didn’t have this issue before updating the plugin recently so not sure if anything could have triggered it?

    Hi @vividglowmedia,

We’re not able to reproduce this problem using only Yoast SEO, WooCommerce, and editing a WooCommerce product page, so this is very strange.

Do you see any errors if you check for?JavaScript errors in the console.

If not, can you give us any other details about the type of product page or which editor you’re using? If you can send us a link to screenshots or to a screencast of the issue, that might help us investigate the issue.

I am using the Divi Theme on my website (using their Divi Builder for editing pages).

For this product page (as an example): https://scantopdf-com.stackstaging.com/product/batch-scanning-with-barcodes/

Yes there are some errors as seen here: https://scantopdf-com.stackstaging.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Screenshot-2020-11-20-at-11.06.24.png

I have done a screen recording so you can see the issue I’m having: https://vimeo.com/481639691/2bd9bd9c15

Thanks for sharing the relevant information and as well as the video with us. We can understand the issue better.

The issue you are experiencing is very odd and never seen such a conflict report. So, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further directly on your site to see what’s going on there but are unable to do so on these (public) forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further privately the issue for you.
