• Once the the block widgets editor had mangled two of my sites, I am now installing this as standard on all the others before I even open the Widgets interface.

I sincerely hope that this plugin remains for several years, as many of my clients can’t afford regular significant partial rebuilds to cope with updates that break their sites. If Classic Widgets is retired in 2022 (as more than hinted at in the description), some of those sites may need to continue to run on old WordPress versions, which is NOT ideal. So many thanks to those maintaining this lifesaver – long may you keep up the good work ??

And by the way, I’m reserving judgement on the new blocks widget system until (a) it has had a couple more bug-fixing updates, and (b) I have tried it in a new build, rather than applied to an existing site. But if it’s as slow and buggy as Gutenberg in the page editor, I must admit I’m not really looking forward to working with it.
