Keeps resending the same notification

I had to deactivate the plugin because it seems to be in some kind of loop, re-publishing the same post in a new iteration. For example, this is what I just received:

Your email ‘[Site Name] [Site Name] [Site Name] [Site Name] Post Title’ has been successfully imported into Site Name https://sitename.com/site-name-site-name-site-name-site-name-post-title/ with the current status of ‘publish’.

I’ve been poking around trying to figure out how this happened, but no luck so far. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation and figured it out.
