Key Registration Bug

  • When you register your key, the plugin will automatically switch you to the emailing system serviced by MailPoet. I however want to keep using my own STMP, so I went to the settings, and had to switch back to STMP, and all my settings were erased. So, I entered all the settings once again, but then the plugin is now acting as not registered.
    Basically, registering your premium key, and then using your own STMP is breaking the plugin, and making it unregistered again.

    Could you please maybe fix it? Is it okay?

  • Hi @hvar,

    Unfortunately, we’re aware of this “problem”.

    Activating a key that allows you to have access to the MailPoet Sending Service automatically activate it as your sending method, and if you go back to the “Other” option, the settings are not saved there.

    However, setting the “Other” sending method should not affect your key validation. If your key is being often becoming “invalid”, this may happen because something is preventing the key check task to run properly, or it fails because it’s checking the wrong URL.

    MailPoet uses the current site URL to check whether it is still associated with your API key.

    If your website is hosted with Dreamhost, for example, it’s known that they can dynamically change your site URL in wp-config.php, and it should affect the key check task.

    We don’t do that. Sure we CAN, just like any host, but we don’t. Are you sure you meant us?

    Hi guys, I saw that you have updated the plugin, but this problem still has not been fixed. Will you be able to fix this issue? Now I cannot update the premium version of plugin simply because I am using my own STMP service. I do not use your service because mail sent through your service is marked always as spam, but this particular reason why I use my own STMP which is not marked as spam is not to be discussed here further. Please fix this key problem so I can update my premium version.
