• This is probably a really silly question, but I will ask it nonetheless.

I am trying to work out advertising for my blog, and I have signed up with an affiliate. Companies are providing the typical banners (which I understand how to use), but also text and keyword advertising.

I am a bit confused as to how it works. From my understanding, text links are words within a post that are underlined or highlighted and link to an advertiser. I.e. a post about shoes might have “shoes” linked into Zappos.

Keyword ads, I am more confused about. Advertisers have lists of words that you cannot use, but I am unsure of how to implement this kind of advertising, and I don’t want to do it wrong.

Can anyone help me out or point me toward a resource?

    Thanks!

  • I am having a similar problem. However it is my understanding that the keyword ads are what you put behind the highlighted word in the text. But few of my affiliates offer keyword ads and I am frustrated because I want to use this means of adding ads to my site.

When I try to connect a keyword by highligting the word and go to link and insert the hmtl code for a text link it doesn’t work.

I hope this helps, do you have any help for me?

    Thanks
