Everything has been working and now all of a sudden I noticed on several client sites using All in One, the keywords don’t show up and in turn the sites don’t come up in search results as there are no connecting keywords.

Strongtowerfit.net is the one I’m actively working on right now if I can figure out what this problem is I can duplicate the resolve on the others.

    From the Homepage I have

STF, CrossFitt, stf crossfit, Crossfit Gym, Strengthen the Faith Crossfit, CrossFit Classes, Cross Fit, Crossfit Box, Crossfit, mobility, weight loss, weight-loss, endurance, low impact, range of motion, flexibility, gym, workout, workouts, 5k, marathon, half marathon, personal trainer, fitness, health, group classes, personal training, Nutrition, Weight Training, Nutrition guidance, nutrition plan, olympic lifting, strong tower fitness, strongtower fitness, strong tower gym, coaching, corporate training

in the keywords. In a recent update has the method of inserting keywords changed? Any help would be appreciated since the sites only come up if you type the url directly.

Meta Keywords are no longer used by any search engine. Google stopped using them in 2009, they have zero effect on SEO. By default, Meta Keywords are disabled in All in One SEO Pack but you can reenable them if you so wish by going to All in One SEO, General Settings, Keyword Settings (all the way at the bottom).

Is there any effective replacement to this? The release from Google said that meta description is used for snippets so would a short high-quality statement with valuable keywords be the replacement?
It seems that Yahoo and Bing still use keywords a little but not much so I would say it’s still useful to use that feature for those search engines right?

I guess a big confusion was that it’s been working fine for two months and it was on 3rd page and gaining a couple weeks ago. Now the site is just totally gone so if nothing has changed with the plugin we’re just trying to track down what changed so drastically.

Thanks for the Quick reply Steve it’s appreciated!

There is no replacement for meta keywords. Here’s what Google says about meta descriptions and title tags – https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en

I guess I didn’t mean replace so much as what is Google shifted it’s gaze to. Got it! We will continue working with it. Just wanted to eliminate the plugin if that was the issue, now we know it’s not. Thank you for the help Steve!

Google shifted to basing their algorithm on the quality of the content and how well the author appears as a subject matter expert.
