Kill 2 birds: use S&F also as recent posts plugin?

    I’m already planning to use Search & Filter for its usual purpose, but also need a really good/flexible recent posts plugin, such as reviewed in this article. https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-recent-post-plugins. I’m hoping to kill 2 birds with one plugin but haven’t figured out how to do it with S&F yet.

    First of all, I’ve managed to eliminate teh search box and just have a dropdown and submit button with the examples given in the documentation. But haven’t seen anything about how to use shortcodes or otherwise to eliminate the submit button (auto submit), and truly, just use the short code query to return filtered results of desired recent posts. No interface, just results. Is this possible with this plugin or do I need to find a second bird, such as one in that article? Thx.

    S&F free will not work like this – however with Pro you could create something like this.

    This is because S&F free uses WP urls to perform searches – and because of this you are limited really to only one instance of search results.

    However with pro, you can create multiple results pages and achieve something like this.
