• The plugin scans through subfolders automatically and lists the found content nicely in a table, but its algorithm to determine whether pictures are being used or not is highly unreliable. After deleting all supposedly unused pictures, tons of used pics were gone, including the header picture of my blog… For some reason, some remaining pictures suddenly showed up in totally wrong places. Btw, my blog barely uses plugins, let alone image ones that might throw this one off.

The backup function is awfully implemented, not allowing you to select all files at once for a quick restore. Also, there’s no sorting function to help you restore files by size, resolution, date etc. I had to select hundreds of files manually, because from the little information the backup page gives you for each file, I wasn’t able to determine which ones were actually being used to remedy this mess.

After I completely restored all files, quite a few embedded pictures were still not working. I’m glad I created a backup beforehand. Thank you to the author for your effort. If this plugin was more reliable then it would be a great one.

You had right about the old backup system and about the plugin itself, that it’s why i change all the code (javascript and PHP) to have a very clean and useful plugin, you can give a try (of course with one recent backup made by other plugin and with the backup options active).

Again this plugin work only if the image is referred in one or more pages or posts, but with the version 2.x you can add more check by the CheckersDNUI and CheckerImageAbstract class and extends the image check.
