kindly help – can I update wp-admin only in cpanel

    hello WP community,
    I have just had my sites suspended because of spamming, and the reason is that I have some fake/un-existing email accounts subscribed to my email newsletter. I used MailPoet plugin to send a newsletter to 124 email, and then after half hour i got all my sites suspended.
    I contacted my host, they asked for my confirmation to eliminate a script “/home/elegance/public_html/site/wp-admin”

    the question is, If I confirmed and they delete wp-admin only, will i be able to install a new wp-admin via cpanel and everything will be fine? because , I didn’t make any cpanel or wordpress backups and I have lots of content that I don’t want to lose.

    Please kindly help. I am at a loss!

    It really 100% sounds like your site is hacked and if that’s the case then you really need to delouse your site. Just replacing /wp-admin/ will not do it.

    so, replacing wp-admin folder will cause further crashes and issues only..
    and no sir, my site didn’t get hacked I guess. it is suspended, ( dvforum.elegance-style.com ) as a reason for some “Spam Cop Organization” stuff..

    any further regards are so appreciated !!

    Actually all subdomains in addition to the main domain redirect to the suspended page. can not login to cpanel either. I think my only choice is to confirm eliminating "/home/elegance/public_html/dvforum/wp-admin" and then hopefully the rest of sites would work as the host mentioned. i just couldn’t stand loosing that forum topics, users and subscribers ..

    It won’t do anything. WordPress software does not spam and it doesn’t do anything like that from /wp-admin/ so replacing it will not accomplish anything.

    What exactly was your site doing that got it suspended?

    Problem solved, and like you said mod Jan, WP didn’t cause any issue at all. so my host should never ask to eliminate that folder.
    all they needed to do is to make sure this won’t happen again then they reactivated the hosting pack.
