Kirki provides a means for you to utilize some advanced options in the settings/customize area for the theme. We use the Kirki controls to give you a wide range of customization options, such a toggling on/off certain display settings, choosing colors, and so on.

Yes ok but do I need it? It says it is required but I dont understand why it would be required by me since I dont know anything about coding? Except for the simple codings you are giving me in this forum ??

Simply put, if you don’t have Kirki plugin installed and activated, you’ll be missing some options in the customizer.

For instance, you’ll not be able to put a logo on top of your website, instead of a title that you have right now. And you’ll be missing quite a few other options as well.

Kirki provides a framework that themes can use in order to add controls, generate CSS and do other tasks as well.
A theme that requires the Kirki plugin leverages it in order to add controls to the customizer and generate the styles for your site based on the settings you make in those controls.
The theme author could have easily opted to embed the plugin in their theme, but requiring it as a plugin ensures that your site will always get the latest updates and fixes so it’s a good thing they require it instead of embedding it.
Some other themes embed it so they don’t show the “this theme requires the kirki plugin” message, but requiring its installation as a plugin is considered more secure since if there’s an update you’ll get it a lot sooner.
