Klarna | When available?

At the moment, Klarna is not integrated with this Stripe plugin. You can see the list of currently supported payment methods below:

After checking, I can see that there is currently an open enhancement request to add Klarna to the list of payment methods. You can follow any updates to this here:

• Add Afterpay and Klarna to the list of payment methods

As an alternative, you could look at using the free Klarna Payments extension.

Is there a reason it is still not added? Since Klarna is now officially part of Stripe, enabling to accept Klarna?through a single?Stripe?integration, it does not make sense that we still need a further plugin for it …

While it’s true that Klarna is now officially part of Stripe, the integration process is not as straightforward as it may seem. Each payment method, even if owned by the same parent company, operates differently and requires separate handling within our system to ensure seamless and secure transactions.

We understand the convenience of having Klarna integrated directly into Stripe without the need for an additional plugin. However, the current setup requires a separate plugin to ensure that all the unique features and functionalities of Klarna are fully supported and properly implemented. This is to provide our users with the best possible experience and to ensure the highest level of security and compliance with financial regulations.

We continuously work on improving and simplifying our integration processes, and we appreciate your feedback. It is indeed a valuable suggestion to consider direct integration of Klarna into Stripe, and we will definitely consider this in our future updates.
