We want to post and keep updated a list of known plugin and theme conflicts. If you have these plugins installed and are having issues, these may be the cause, so try deactivating them and see if that resolves the issue for now.

If you are aware of a plugin conflict or have details on the ones below, please add any details.

Note that if you are having major issues with 2.0, you can safely rollback to 1.9.13:

    Thanks,
    Erick

BBPRESS. Can cause site crash. Triggers error that looks like: Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/content/deletedactualpath/wordpress/wp-includes/query.php on line 27

MAGIC FIELDS PLUGIN. Can cause site crash. Triggers error that looks like: Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /web/content/wp-includes/query.php on line 27

SOLILOQUY SLIDER PLUGIN. This may cause aspects of our interface to disappear, especially when adding galleries to pages/posts via the new Attach to Post interface.

CONTACT FORM 7. Still trying to determine the effects on this one. I think I’ve seen one example where it seemed to trigger major errors, and another where it just interfered with gallery displays.

  • Today in visual editor suddenly the link/unlink command was greyed out. Could make the link with html. Discovered it is due to the latest update of nextgen gallery 2.0 (done today too). Deactivating it solved the problem. It seems many people have problems with that upgrade so I plan two possible actions: revert to nextgen 1.9.13 (instructions can be found at the nextgen site as recommended here) – or wait for the next upgrade while 2.0.0 is activated again. At least I can use the html without problems as for now. I did download already the 1.9.13 version in case I run into other problems. At least I know for my other blogs: no upgrade to 2.0!

Hello, I’m very interested in using NextGEN 2.0, I would even consider buying the PRO-Version – if it would not be incompatible to another plugin I am using: Member Access by Chris Abernethy (https://www.chrisabernethy.com/wordpress-plugins/member-access/ and https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/member-access/). I need this plugin to make some posts only accessible for registered users.

If Member Access and NextGEN 2.0 are both activated my WordPress site gets inaccessible in frontend and backend with completely blank screens. As soon as I deactivate one of these plugins everything works fine again.

Up to NextGEN 1.xx I didn’t experience any problems with Member Access simultaneously activated. I would be very happy, if this incompatibility could be fixed.

Royal Slider get’s turned off (I know sliders were already mentioned) but I wanted to give you a specific when using a NG 2.0 gallery on the same page as Royal Slider.

    Issues with RESPONSIVE theme
Select Nav dissppears in responsive mode

It’s not working with the Flexform theme (or rather, it’s affecting the post/portfolio/team carousels in the theme). The theme carousels are completely hidden with v2.0 installed.

We’ve had a similar problem to @regenpfeifer’s with aMember Pro – https://www.amember.com/p/ – if both this and NextGen Gallery V2.0 are active we get completely blank front and back-ends.

From the site logs (edited to anonymize) it appears to be an issue with the upgrade process (although that seemed to have completed correctly).

The only nextgen-related errors I have seen are:

[Wed Jul 31 18:49:27 2013] [warn] [client xx.xx.xx.xx] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_currentuserinfo() in /home/oursite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/amember4/amember4.php on line 216, referer: https://www.oursite.com/wp-admin/update.php?action=upgrade-plugin&plugin=nextgen-gallery%2Fnggallery.php&_wpnonce=2a6da8038d

    Reverted to V1.9.13.

    Killed Cart66 Pro shopping platform.

Version 2.0 conflicts with W3 total cache

Using a slightly modified Twenty Ten theme, NG upgrade caused visual editor post not to show up. Couldn’t enter text in the HTML view either.

    Weird…

@everyone – thanks for the continued updates on the conflicts.

@LasPlamas – can you clarify what conflict there is with W3 Total Cache. That’s one we did test against and didn’t see issues. Thanks.

REVOLUTION SLIDER. The sliders cease working with NG 2.0 installed.

My Dynamic To Top plugin no longer appears since the upgrade to NG 2.0 this morning. Also, NG caused a conflict with my Highslide For WordPress. The directions said I had to turn off the Jxx query blah blah, but when I tried to follow the links that NG 2.0 provided, I was sent to a page that said I had insufficient privileges to access the page. I am an Administrator on my own website, so I can’t see what level of access could be higher than that. I had to deactivate Highslide and install a different plugin (Shutter Reloaded) as a workaround, just so I could get control of my site back.

Oh, and as someone else has already mentioned, my insert and edit link buttons have been greyed out in the kitchen sink. I can still edit them in the HTML editor though. Also, I have the Ultimate TinyMCE plugin installed, and the advanced link button is intermittently affected there too. (I don’t know about anchors, or any of the others, I haven’t had time to try everything.)

I hope there aren’t other plugins affected. I haven’t had time to check yet.

I’ve never had these kinds of issues before with a NG update, and I’ve used the gallery for over 5 years. What’s going on???

Blog Post Calendar Widget ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/blog-post-calendar-widget/ ) seems to have a problem after I added a featured picture to my post. It keeps on trying to update the calendar, but nothing is shown.
Could it be related to the extra entries in the wp_posts table with post_type “attachment”?

With the Twenty Twelve theme after updating to NextGEN 2.0 mobile navigation “Menu” button would no longer toggle down revealing navigation options. Uninstalled before reading https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/do-not-uninstall-nextgen-if-you-are-having-issues-with-20?replies=38 but that resolved the issue. Reinstalled 1.9.13 and mobile navigation appears to be functioning properly.

I’ve got NextGen NivoSlider 3.2.5 on a Development site and the upgrade to NextGen Gallery 2.0.0 broke it. I left it up on the site, you can see it at:

    https://fame.jamesgoodrich.net

In Chrome, it displays the broken image icon and takes up the entire page, pushing the text off the bottom and you can’t scroll to see it. In Firefox, it collapses the area for the slider and the text is visible and the rotating markers are visible.

Also, NextGen Gallery 2.0.0 overrides the standalone NivoSlider menu and places it as a submenu of Gallery.
