• I get an “undefined root element: xhtml:html ” error when I use FeedValidator.org to validate feeds for HappinessBlog.com on a brand new download and install of Kubrick Special.

Another forum posting said code was mistaken being inserted into the feeds, see:

I’m new to WordPress. I’ve recently migrated from Blogger to WordPress.com and then to stand alone space on 1and1.com

I imported content from Blogger through WordPress.com to the new WordPress installation at 1and1.

Could something in my content files causing this error? I’m new to WordPress, I’m learning fast.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • Ouch! I need this help too. I just started blogging – and with WordPress.

I had signed up for receiving subscriptions … I went and checked that FeedValidator.org and it didn’t like my feed either.

I am using a variation on the Kubrick.

    Thank you!

I went and tried a couple of other themes that I had downloaded (or that came with 2) – they all had the same code that got rejected by

    FeedValidator.org

    hope this gets resolved!

    thank you.

your feed has nothing to do with the theme you’re using — so changing themes wont fix feed validation errors.

before you do anything you need to disable whatever you are using to redirect your feeds to feedburner, and verify that its the feed thats broke, and not whatever is redirecting.

When I click the feed link for your posts at the bottom of your page i get redirected here:

    https://feeds.feedburner/onlinehome/pEVP

    Click it.

Thats obviously NOT going to work. So you fix that first.

Im going to assume thats related to this:

    https://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=feed%3A%2F%2Fhttp%2F%2Fhappinessblog.com%2Ffeed%2F

I hate to be so confused here ..

The first thing I did before I even posted was go change to that FeedBlitz just picked up the general page, not the feed. So i belive that part is done.

This is related to the link above – I didn’t know anything about the validator. yesterday I signed up for FeedBlitz and it delivered the “updated page” just fine this morning.

Then I realized I could feed it so it gave people more … I got my first feed from another site this morning and saw the difference.

I am not sure which thing I am supposed to click to get what you said you got. Some of the themes have rss on the side … I guess I put it at the top. I bet I moved it instead of duplicating it so it could be at the top.

So, are you talking about rss or the FeedBlitz … I can follow directions once I get what I am supposed to do … but I am a little lost as to actually where we are at the moment.

    Thank you.

    for ease
