One of the few available classifieds plugins with great potential

  • WPAdverts is one of the few available classifieds WP plugins out there, and I would rank it at the top.

    It offers great front end design layouts and admin controls of which content parts to display as well as grid configuration. There are handy shortcodes to let you implement the components with flexibility. Users can post a classified in the frontend with our without creating an account. Additional features can be added via modules, and this is a good approach to minimize the interface being overwhelmed with settings you don’t need.

    It would be nice to allow the admin to create preset locations such as regions or cities, and admin UI to be further polished up.

    The author is very responsive and helpful to answer questions. So one more star for this part.

    @skylabb thanks for the review.

    The administrator actually can moderate Ads. To put them into moderation you can use the [adverts_add] shortcode as [adverts_add moderate="1"].

    Yes, that works and is just what I was looking for. Giving the review one more star for that!

    Also, it looks like the default expiration period is 4 weeks. It would be awesome if the admin has the option to set expiration time by number of days or weeks.

    I’m integrating this plugin for my project and hope to get good support so we can continue to make this plugin a great one.

    Hi, thanks for an additional star :).

    The default number of days the Advert is visible you can edit from wp-admin / Classifieds / Options / Core panel in the “Default Visibility” field.

    If you are charging users for posting Ads then in each pricing you can set different visibility / duration.

    Thanks for the excellent support, Greg. I revised the review one more time, and you earn all my 5 stars!

    I found the Default Visibility setting which is what I needed. I initially overlooked this part because the way it’s labeled. Visibility is a very general word that can mean a lot of things. So I thinking re-naming this label as “Post Expiration Time” or something close to this would describe this setting more precisely.
