• This maybe the most popular calendar plugin for WP with lots of features. The one major thing missing for me is the flexibility to display event listing anywhere on the web site I want. Widget displaying has its limitation. I wish the plugin can generate shortcode or provide Gutenberg block so I can display event listing (with some control settings) on a page.

  • Hey @skylabb,

I appreciate you taking the time to share your review with us and the community at large!

The best way to embed the event list anywhere actually comes with our Events Calendar Pro add-on. It includes a ton of shortcodes and additional widgets you can use to add the calendar on any page or post. Definitely worth a look!

If you’d prefer not to go the Pro route, I’d suggest registering a new widget area in the template where you’d like to display the event list, then use the Event List widget that’s included in the plugin. That will allow you to add the list directly where you want it.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for the reply, Geoff.

Ah, the short code feature is only available with pro version. I’d think short code is a common enough feature that comes with many other free plugin and should be part of free features for this plugin as well. There are several niche features in this calendar plug in that should be in the pro version in trade of the short code feature.

Gotcha, that gives me a good idea of your expectations so thanks for sharing! I totally understand how shortcakes would be pretty rad in the core plugin. Which features do you think are too niche and ought to be considered premium offerings instead?

    Thanks!
    Geoff
