LAMP wordpress replication to WAMP wordpress

    I searched the forum WAMP installs before asking this but I don’t think my situation is covered in those remarks.

    I have a production WP hosted on a LAMP system using a fee-based hosting service. I’m happy with it.

    I have WP 3.9.1 installed on my Win 7(64 bit) Home Pre. laptop and would like to have a copy of my production system available to me on my laptop so I can fiddle with it without fear.

    I found several articles dealing with this issue, on the web, by using Google to search.

    The problem is not one of the articles gave a COMPLETE explanation of how to accomplish the task — they ALWAYS forgot to cover something.
    The reason I know about the omissions is, it was brought out by the comments by others, on the authors explanation of how to accomplish the task.

    Is this really so hard that no one seems able to cover it ACCURATELY and COMPLETELY?
