  • One of my test systems has WordPress in a subdirectory, so that isn’t the problem.

I’m not clear on a few things. When you change Landing Location, and Save Settings, does your chosen option display or does it display as “Return to same URL”?

Or do you mean it displays as something else, but always returns to the same URL?

What other settings have you chosen? Custom Login can be a problem since other login software may not work the same way that WordPress login works, in terms to where it goes after logging in, or even just retaining the Query that WordPress needs to know where to go.

And, of course, are you seeing any messages besides Settings Saved on the Settings page?

I’ll be out of the office now but will be back in less than two hours, and can respond then.

    The option is saved correctly.
In admin page, if I check “Go to Site Home” and save : I retrieve “Go to Site Home”. So it seem ok…

But We I disconnect and reconnect I return to dashboard and not to home.

What other settings have you chosen?

I tried any other options and it the same.

    I’ve seen : “Settings Saved” ??

No problem. I’ll not come back before tomorrow.

    Good Evening.

At this point, the best approach is for me to try and re-create the problem on one of my test systems. To do that, I will need to get a full list of Plugins that are activated, and know the current Theme being used. I will then install all the same plugins and Theme, and see if I get the same results.

Unfortunately, time zone differences could see some delays in responses. Evening for you is Morning for me.

Sorry for time response jonradio. I was so busy…

The theme is a specific one for my customer and it’s note a public site… So I can’t give it to you… But there no code in functions.php and just three templates are used (single.php, home.php and categoy.php)

    List of plugins :
    * Category Checklist Tree 1.3.2 by scribu
    * Category Order and Taxonomy Terms Order 1.3.6 by Nsp-Code
    * jonradio Private Site

Thank you, I will post my progress here.

Like you, the last 3 days I really wasn’t in the office long enough to make much progress, but I have now completed tested everything I could with these three plugins together, both on a subdirectory install of WordPress, and a subdirectory install with a root Site URL. I have been completely unable to re-create your problem.

At this point, I leave the decision up to you. Do you wish to give up on it? Or would you like me to dig deeper? Digging deeper will require me to get a copy of the custom Theme you created, and I’m happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement to do that.

I await hearing your choice. Thanks so much for your patience.

Before we go any further, I just discovered an issue that may be your problem as well.

Are you entering a URL ending wp-login.php to login? If so, Version 2.10.1 has a new Setting to handle Landing Location in that scenario. “Apply to wp-login.php?” in the Landing Location section of the Settings page for the plugin. Default is NO, so you will need to check the checkbox.

If that does not resolve your issue, we are back to my previous post.

    Sorry for My long silence…
I found some other solution for my customer with a simple line of code in header.php of my theme…
But this solution is not good for everybody because it needs to be developer to do it… Or I’d like propose some solution that all can implement, as your plugin purpose.

I’ll put the project on my development server and I’ll make tests an other time. Then if I can re-create the bug I’d give you the access.

    See you soon.
