• When I edit a blog page on my Mac, I can see all the html, but when I try on a Windows computer, it gives me a row of buttons. When I want to make a word into a link, it opens up a stupid window that says {$lang_somethine_something}. What does this window do? You can’t put a cursor in it and type anything. It just sits there and it winds up not letting you add a link. The only way I can add a link is to go back to a Mac.

  • Is the ugly wysiwyg thing disabled on your blog?
    1. Options > Writing > RTE* uncheck
    2. Users > Your profile: left bottom corner.
After that you should see the normal classic WP editor and all your html.
(As far as I know in Safari these RTE gizmos don’t work)

    __________
*Rich Text Editor aka TinyMCE aka wysiwyg

I used to know the hack to make the quicktags button bar appear in Safari (not that awful RTE, but the normal quicktags). I can’t recall the hack, however.

    Anyone remember this one?
